The more conversations I have with peers, the stronger my observation becomes: many technology professionals seem to be experiencing their own version of “Mal du siècle.” This term, once used to describe the disillusionment and melancholy of the 19th century, seems apt for the pervasive feelings of despondency that many in the tech world now express. There is a palpable sense of apathy, discouragement, and even a growing distaste for what was once pursued with passion and eagerness.
